Hierarchy of Ecology

2. The level of Ecology that encompasses all of the others is the Biosphere. The smallest level that includes abiotic factors is the Ecosystem. The abiotic factor in this picture from our scavenger hunt is a rock located on the nature trail behind the school.
3. *NOTE* This is a picture of Kiera’s Hierarchy Activity. I did not do the activity because I was absent, so you said to just include hers.

- A turtles habitat is often times in the water, but may also be on land. They do not usually have specific “homes”, as they are able to retract into their own shell for shelter and protection. It’s niche would be within the sea.
- The community would be affected because any organisms that are eaten by the turtle would then become overpopulated because there wouldn’t be anything to limit their size. Turtles are also fed upon, meaning that other organisms eat them. If they were removed, the organisms that feed on them would potentially die off due to lack of food.
